Belgian Cheetahs also aim for individual glory at the Memorial
The Belgian Cheetahs are also taking part in the festivities at the King Baudouin Stadium. The relay quartet are aiming for a good individual result. Camille Laus is taking part on the 400 metres, Hanne Claes and Justien Grillet run their 400 metre hurdles and Cynthia Bollingo will run her preferred 200 metres.

Abdi: ‘Last ever track race on Friday'
Traditionally the week leading up to the AG Memorial Van Damme is packed with daily press conferences. On Monday Bashir Abdi, one of the Belgian medal winners at the recent European championships in Berlin, took to the microphone. “Going to the Memorial with a lack of sleep after all the celebrations shouldn’t be a problem,” meeting director Cédric Van Branteghem introduced Abdi. “I speak from experience.”

Air Lavillenie flies high above Antwerp
Less than a week before the Diamond League Final in the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels a world class field of Pole Vaulters gathered this Saturday in Antwerp at the backdrop of the Museum at the River (MAS) in Antwerp. In a unique setting on the water (!!!) the final and spectacular leg of the AG Urban Memorial Van Damme Series was held.

Starting in Doha early May until Birmingham last weekend and at 10 more Diamond League meetings in between the world class athletes battled to rank in the top 8 of their discipline which qualifies them to take part in the Diamond League Finals in Zürich and in Brussels.

Entry of Sacoor crowns successful 2018
400m World Junior Champion Jonathan Sacoor will end his successful season in Brussels. So the entire 4 x 400m European Championships Gold Medal Team from Belgium will compete in the 400m.

Coleman and Miller-Uibo celebrate in Birmingham
Christian Coleman and Shaunae Miller-Uibo were crowned king and queen of sprint in the Men’s 100m and the Women’s 200m at the Diamond League Meeting in Birmingham. Both qualified for their respective Final races at the AG Memorial Van Damme (August, 31st).

14 Belgians to compete with a wildcard in Brussels
The AG Memorial Van Damme invites the Top 8 ranked athletes in every Diamond Race discipline to compete in the Diamond League Final. But the organisers can also give wildcards to athletes from their own country. 14 Belgian athletes who have shined at the European Championships will get the opportunity to compete in a world class field.

Belgian athletics fans can be more than happy. The World’s best Pole Vaulters will be in action twice in a week. First on Saturday Aug. 25th at the AG Urban Memorial Van Damme Series in Antwerp and on Friday Aug., 31st in the IAAF Diamond League Final at the AG Memorial Van Damme.

Opening Ceremony AG Memorial Van Damme honours all Belgian medal winners of this summer
The European Championships are finished and all attention is now drawn to the AG Memorial Van Damme on Friday August, 31. All Belgian medal winners of the past summer will be honoured during the Opening Ceremony.
