Belgian stars among the world's greats
The strong international entry list of Friday's Allianz Memorial Van Damme has been boosted by nearly all Belgian stars and finalists from the most recent world and European championships. As always the Memorial will also embrace Belgian athletes from other sports. Those who grabbed medals in the major competitions will join Friday's opening ceremony at the King Baudouin Stadium.
85 WC-, EC- and Olympic medals in Brussels
The entry list for the 46th Allianz Memorial Van Damme is taking further shape and it starts looking absolutely impressive. The athletes that are due to compete in Brussels next week have no less than 85 medals from the recent Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships under their belts.
Fraser-Pryce vs. Jackson in the Women’s 100m
The two fastest women in the world will go into a head to head at the Allianz Memorial Memorial Van Damme in the Women’s 100m. World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser and World Silver Medalist Shericka Jackson are up for a great showdown.
400m Women National Race added to the program
Team Belgium performed in excellent fashion in the 4 x 400m Relay events at the European Championships. The Men’s team won a European silver medal, after having taken bronze at the World Championships. The Women’s 4 x 400m team from Belgium surprisingly finished fourth in Munich and set a new National Record. The “Belgian Cheetahs” as they are known, now get the occasion to compete in the pre program of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme.

More national and international stars announced for Brussels DL
Lots of medallists from he World and European Championships have confirmed their appearance at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme on Friday Sep., 2nd. The Women’s 100m Hurdles and the Men’s 400m Hurdles are taking further shape. In the Women’s Javelin Throw all three Oregon medallists will be on the infield.
Two appearances for Bolingo
Cynthia Bolingo will compete in the 400m at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme on Sep., 2nd. The fastest Belgian on the distance also hosts a seminar on diversity and inclusion in sports, an initiative of which she is the driving force.
World 400m Hurdles Champion Alison dos Santos has signed
Alison Dos Santos, the new 400m Hurdles World Champion is added to the field of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme.
