The Bislett Games in Oslo constitute the 5th leg of the IAAF Diamond League. After 12 meetings the top 8 (sprint events) or top 12 (distance and field events) qualify for the finals in either Z\u00fcrich or Brussels. The AG Memorial Van Damme will be held on August, 31st. The Road to Brussels made its stop in Oslo tonight.<\/p>\n

The 100m women of which the final will be held at the AG Memorial Van Damme was decided by a photo phinish. Murielle Ahoure turned out to be the winner in 10,91, ahead of Dina Asher-Smith who set a new British Record of 10,92.<\/p>\n

Kenyan Hivin Kiyeng was the strongest finisher in the women\u2019s 3000m steeplechase in 9,09.63. Jamaican Danielle Williams was the fastest in the 100m Hurdles in 12,60. Eline Berings finished in 6th in a seasonal best of 12,89, which is her second all time best performance, just 2 hundredths shy of her personal best that dates back from 2014.<\/p>\n

In the outside lane Berings ran a consistent race that allowed her to keep in contention with some of the world\u2019s best hurdlers. With 12,89 she nails herself a bit stronger in 6th place on the European top lists.<\/p>\n

Salwa Eid Naser broke the 50 seconds barrier in the women\u2019s 400m in 49,98. Her seasonal best performance was good enough to take victory.<\/p>\n

Mutaz Essa Barshim was once more the best male high jumper. The Qatari crossed the bar at 2,36m and overtook Danil Lysenko (2,33m) who came in second. Andrius Gudzius was the best Discus Thrower with 69,04m. Philip Milanov had to settle for 6th place with 64,40m, 50cm short of his seasonal best.<\/p>\n

There were no World Leading performances in Oslo, but 2 Meeting Records were broken : Thomas Walsh from New Zealand won the Shot Put with 22,29m while Qatari Abderrahman Samba was an impressive winner in the 400m Hurdles with 47,60, ahead of local favourite Karsten Warholm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
