The IAAF Diamond League was established in 2010 as a replacement of the IAAF Golden League series (1998-2009). \u201cSince its establishment it has conquered a place in the hearts and minds of sports fans worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n
The IAAF Diamond League encompasses 14 meetings in Asia, the Middle East and the United States, as well as in Europe. Traditionally the AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme which will be staged as the big final of the competition on September, 5 in the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe worldwide TV audience for the IAAF Diamond League is far greater than the previous Golden League\u201d, Lamine Diack added. \u201cIn 2013 it attracted a global audience of 265 million viewers across 135 countries\u201d.<\/p>\n
