Van Niekerk and Lasitskene break Diamond League Records in Lausanne
Wayde Van Niekerk was impressive at the Lausanne Diamond League Meeting. He clocked 43”62 in the 400m and set a new Diamond League Record and a World Leading pefromance. Mariya Lasitskene did the same in the Women’s High Jump : she crossed the bar at 2.06m and comfortably leads the #RoadToBrussels.

Convincing win for Thompson in Paris, Bett deserves his ticket for Brussels
Elaine Thompson convincingly won the 100m Diamond Race in Paris. The Olympic Champion made a strong bid on her #RoadToBrussels. Kipyegon Bett assured his ticket for Brussels while finishing second in the 800m.

Milanov close to Belgian Record
At the Diamond League meeting of Stockholm Philip Milanov came very close to beating his own Belgian discus record. His 67m05 was his best throw of the season. Kevin Borlée was third on the 400m in 45.47, 0.14 shy of the minimum time for the world championships.

Ghent discovers the Art of pole vaulting at the Kouter
For the people of Ghent, The Kouter has been one of the typical meeting spots for many generations. In the middle ages musters and jousts were regularly held at the site. Anno 2017 the Kouter hosted a pole vault competition as part of the AG Urban Memorial Van Damme Series. The day's victories went to Fanny Smets and Arnaud Art.

Seasonal Best for Milanov, Schippers wins but was a false starter

Milanov longest Discus Thrower at Ostend Beach
Philip Milanov has won the AG Insurance Urban Memorial Van Damme Discus Throwing event in Ostend. The athlete who is home in Bruges threw his Discus 64.68m long and enjoyed a “beautiful day on a unique location”.
