32 Disciplines and Extra Prize Money For 10 Stars
The Wanda Diamond League revealed the calendar last week, and has now also announced the changes to the prize money that will be awarded next year. The disciplines that were cancelled in 2019 will make a return, which means that a total of 32 disciplines are once again in with a chance of winning a Diamond Trophy. What’s new is that ten stars can count on an extra prize pool of 500,000 dollars.

De Wanda Diamond League heeft, na de kalender vorige week, nu ook wijzigingen bekend gemaakt met het oog op het prijzengeld dat volgend jaar wordt verdeeld. De in 2019 geschrapte disciplines keren terug, waardoor in totaal opnieuw 32 disciplines kans maken op een Diamond Trophy. Nieuw is dat tien uitblinkers kunnen rekenen op een extra prijzenpot van 500.000 dollar.

Duplantis Makes History in Rome
He’s been the world record holder for a while now but on Thursday he also produced the highest outdoor pole vault. At the Wanda Diamond League Meeting at the Stadio Olimpico, Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis cleared 6.15m. Our compatriot Ben Broeders broke the Belgian record.

Duplantis breaks 6 metre barrier in Brussels
In addition to four world records (world hour record men and women, 20k men and 100 metre wheelers) the AG Memorial Van Damme also delivered a fantastic meeting record for pole vaulter Armand Duplantis. On the 1000 metres Faith Kipyegon fell just short of taking a fifth world’s best.

Farah and Abdi bring memorable AG Memorial Van Damme to a close with third and fourth world record
After Sifan Hassan led the way by beating the women’s world hour record, later on Mo Farah followed suit by setting a new world hour record in the men’s event: 21 kilometres and 330 metres is the new benchmark. In the same race Belgian Bashir Abdi also broke the world record on the 20 kilometres.

Sifan Hassan is the new world hour record holder. The Dutchwoman took one hour to run 18.920 km at the AG Memorial Van Damme, over 400 metres further than Dire Tune's 2008 benchmark.

Genyn opens AG Memorial Van Damme with world record
The 44th AG Memorial got off to a great start on Friday night. At the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Peter Genyn set a new world record in the 100 metres for wheelers.
