Thiam, KJT and Duplantis are also coming to Brussels!

The 44th AG Memorial Van Damme on September 4 also has a battle in store between the two best Heptathletes in the world, a Pole Vault event starring World Record holder Mondo Duplantis and a perfume of the very best of Belgian sprinting.

Reigning Olympic Heptathlon Champion Nafi Thiam enters a triathlon against reigning World Champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson. They will compete in the 100m Hurdles, the Shot Put and the High Jump. In the Hurdles race they will be joined by Eline Berings and Anne Zagré.

“I am excited about the fact that the AG Memorial Van Damme does take place. When there is a competition to look forward to, that gives a true boost to my motivation. I can’t wait to step on the track on September, 4th for this special and challenging event”, says Nafi Thiam.

The Men’s Pole Vault will be centered around World Record Holder Mondo Duplantis. The Swede showed exceptional levels of performance last winter while setting new World Records in the event. National Record Holder and World Championships finalist Ben Broeders from Belgium will be one of the other contenders. Kévin, Jonathan and Dylan Borlée are facing a European challenge in a 200m race, while some of the Belgian Cheetah’s gather in a 400m. The closing event will be a Mixed Relay where the Belgian Tornado’s and the Belgian Cheetah’s can shine in front of their home fans.
