Thiam starts her chase for gold on Saturday

Philip Milanov unfortunately couldn’t qualify for the Discus Throw Final at the WC in Athletics in London. But Belgium is already looking forward to the start of the Heptathlon on Saturday with top rated favourite Nafi Thiam.

It was a brilliant start of the WC when Mo Farah took his third consecutive World Title in the 10.000m in front of his delirious home crowd. Saturday the Men’s Discus Throw Final is one of the highlights, especially because these athletes will take part in the IAAF Diamond League Final at the AG Memorial Van Damme on Sep., 1st.

Philip Milanov from Bruges ranks second in the Diamond Race and will certainly compete in Brussels, even though he was unlucky to drop out from the WC Final by a mere 8 centimeters. Daniel Stahl from Sweden is the Diamond Race leader and has also confirmed for Brussels. Stahl was the strongest qualifier in London and is the top favourite to win the gold, in London as well as in Brussels.

In the Heptathlon in London Nafi Thiam is the top favourite. The first four events take place on Saturday, including the High Jump. In that event Thiam has earned a wild card to compete at the AG Memorial Van Damme. The WC Heptahlon will terminate on Sunday evening.
