Singing is one of Morris’s passions. She has always been occupied with pets and her parents let her study guitar and violin. “I’m kind of a dare devil, I like challenges. You must be a little bit crazy to be a Pole Vaulter”, said Morris. “I did waterski, diving from high rocks and things like that. As a professional athlete I have to take care of my body and I don’t take those risks anymore.”
“Being an Olympian and winning a medal was more than I could dream of, taking in to account that I had to quit from training for 6 weeks with a broken wrist. Of course I am a competitor and it was a pity that the bar dropped in my last attempt. It was a good one and I thought that I had crossed the bar, it didn’t feel as if I’d touched it. It has given me the confidence that it is my turn to win the gold in Tokio.”
