Borlée brothers : “Every Olympic Champion loves to compete in Brussels”

Kevin, Jonathan and Dylan Borlée want to shine in front of their home crowd next Friday. “I missed out on the meeting once”, said Kévin Borlée “and it hurt. I’m still suffering a bit from my foot injury but that won’t stop me from competing Friday. Friday is our last competition, after that we take a few weeks off.”

“This is how the whole circuit is looking at this meeting. Every Olympic Champion wants to compete in Brussels, it is one of the highlights of the athletics season and it is always a thrill to be in the stadium”, confirms Jonathan.

The Borlée family is happy with the season that they have had. “We became European Champions and finished fourth at the Olympics in a national record and just 3 hundredths off the bronze medal. The 4 x 400m Relay successes made it up for not having been on top of our game in the individual event.”

“We are now getting ready for the next Olympiade, it will be our fourth”, said the twin brothers. We continue with the same drive and the same desire to train and work hard. We want to better and better and deliver something special in Tokio.”
