Clash of the powerhouses

This year the field in the Men’s Shot Put at the AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme looks incredibly strong. The top 7 finishers at the World Championships will be on the infield on Friday Sep. 11th at the King Baudouinstadium.

First of all there is a Diamond Race duel to be watched between the newly crowned World Champion Joe Kovacs from the USA and the German Davis Storl (2011 and 2013 World Champion and 2012 and 2014 European Champion) who took the silver in Beijing. Both athletes share the lead in the Diamond Race.

Other contenders include O’Dayne Richards from Jamaica, the bronze medalist in Beijing, double Olympic Champion Tomas Majewski from Poland and Christian Cantwell (2009 World Champion) and Reese Hoffa (2007 World Champion and 2012 bronze Olympic medalist), both from the USA.
