The Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) together with Belgacom and the Memorial Van Damme, will have a disabled athlete in the spotlights again. Jerome Singleton, the fastest man on earth with an amputation, is coming to Belgium.
Aware of its social role and during the preparation of the Paralympic athletes for the Paralympic Games of London 2012, Belgacom supports the Belgian Paralympic Committee in organising two events for disabled athletes.
The world’s top Paralympic athletes gathers in Brussels for a 200m sprint T43/44 (combined single and double leg amputation). The race will take place only just after the opening ceremony.
Prior to that, along with the Belgacom Youth Memorial Van Damme, the Belgian Paralympic Committee, via its leagues VLG and LHF, also organizes 100m wheelchair sprint for talented athletes and this through.
FASTEST MAN IN THE WORLD
Biggest name on the list of participants of the main event is undoubtedly Jerome Singleton. Earlier this year the multiple Paralympic medalist took made the press the world around earlier when he took the world title at the queens number. The American became the first athlete in seven years to beat living legend Oscar Pistorius in the 100m.
