Renaud Lavillenie is coming back to Brussels

The General Assembly of the IAAF Diamond League in Monaco has decided on the disciplines that will be staged in each of the Diamond League meetings in 2015.

The AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme will again, as it was the wase in 2014, stage the Diamond Race 100m Men Final and the final of the Men’s Pole Vault.

These are the 16 events that were allocated to the AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme that will be held on Friday September, 16th . They will be staged as Diamond Race Finals in which the ultimate winners of the IAAF Diamond League will be decided.

Men : 100m, 800m, 5000m, 400m Hurdles, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Javelin Throw.
Women : 200m, 400m , 1500m, 100m Hurdles, 3000m Steeple, High Jump, Triple Jump and Discus Throw.

Probably the 200m and the 400m Men will be added to that program, as well as the Men’s 10000m.

That means that the French Pole Vaulter Renaud Lavillenie who was crowned as the”IAAF Athlete of the Year” will again be present in the King Baudouin Stadium where he set a World Leading Performance this year.

We are also looking forward to the return of David Rudisha, the impressive Kenyan 800m World Record Holder and Olympic Champion. In 2013 and 2014 Rudisha suffered from injuries and didn’t reach his best level. It will also be interesting to see what program Usain Bolt will be opting for. In 2014 he took a year off in order to concentrate fully on 2015. After the World Championships in Beijing Bolt has the opportunity to compete in both the 100m and the 200m in Brussels…
