Miraculous Norwegian distance runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen wants to shine again at Allianz Memorial Van Damme

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is coming back to the Allianz Memorial Van Damme after making his debut in 2020 in Brussels. The 20 year old Ingebrigtsen – a miraculous Norwegian distance runner – is the reigning European Champion and Recod Holder in the 1500m. Belgian national record holder Ismael Debjani is one of the contenders of the Norwegian on Sep., 3rd in the King Baudouin Stadium.

Ingebrigtsen broke the European 1500m record last year at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Monaco. His mark of 3:28.68 was 17 hundredths of a second faster than the previous mark from Mo Farah in 2013.

Ingebrigtsen also holds the European 5000m record. On June, 10th the highly talented Norwegian shattered the previous mark from Mohammed Mourhit, set in 2000, at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Florence.

In 2018, Jakob Ingebrigtsen showed his unmatched talent in becoming the 1500m and 5000m European Champion in Berlin at the age of 18 years only.

On Sep. 3rd Ingebrigtsen competes in the 1500m at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme in Brussels, a race that he won last year in outstanding 3:30.69.

Last year Ismael Debjani finished fourth in only 3:38.00. This year Debjani, based in the southern part of Belgium, will be aiming for a much stronger result. Debjani already set a new Belgian national record this year in Genève (SUI) with a mark of 3:33.06.
