42nd AG Memorial Van Damme with international top field

Starting in Doha early May until Birmingham last weekend and at 10 more Diamond League meetings in between the world class athletes battled to rank in the top 8 of their discipline which qualifies them to take part in the Diamond League Finals in Zürich and in Brussels.

Brussels is getting ready to welcome the world’s best athletes in the Diamond League Final : Duplantis, Kendricks and Lavillenie in the Pole Vault, but also the fastest men in the world this year with Ronnie Baker and Christian Coleman in the 100m, Sergey Shubenkov, Christian Taylor, Dafne Schippers, Sandra Perkovic, Malaika Mihambo and many others in their favourite events.

PARALYMPIC TOP DUEL AND A UNIQUE RELAY EVENT

A few days after their duel at the European Paralympic Championships a remake of their duel will be staged between Paralympic athletes Martina Caironi and Gitte Haenen in the 100m for Bladerunners. Caironi is the 2012 Paralympic Champion in the 100m and won silver in the Long Jump at the Rio Paralympics in 2016. Haenen was 4th in the 100m at the World Championships in London in 2017 and is the actual World Record holder in the 400m.

The AG Memorial Van Damme stages a unique event with a mixed relay of Olympic and Paralympic athletes in a 2 x 200m, which will be anchored by the Paralympic athletes.
