Maria Lasitskene defended her World title as an authorised neutral athlete. She crossed the bar at 2.03m and finished ahead of Yuliya Levchenko (UKR) with 2.01m and Kamila Licwinko (POL) with 1.99m.
In the Diamond League Final Lasitskene will compete against Nafi Thiam. Thiam holds Championships Records in the High Jump at major championships when she jumped 1.98m in Rio and 1.95m in London. “But certainly, I would like to raise the bar a bit higher. I didn’t like any one of my attempts at 2.08m. I hope I still have potential to break the world record this season,” said Lasitskene.
