Felix equals Bolt and Ottey

Allyson Felix won the bronze medal at the World Championships in London. The American now joins Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Merlene Ottey as the most be-medalled competitors at the WC, with a tally of 14 medals. And there are still 2 relay events to come in London. Felix will also be present at the AG Memorial Van Damme on Sep. 1st.

The 400m gold medal was surprisingly seized by Phyllis Francis. The American surged over the finish line ahead of Salwa Eid Naser from Bahrein (50.06 NR) and Allyson Felix (50.08). Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo looked as if she would take the title when she ran into straight with a large advance on Felix. But in the final 50m Miller-Uibo started to fade dramatically, it even looked as if she was stumbling down the latter stages of her race.

Allyson Felix won the 200m at the AG Memorial Van Damme in 2010 and in 2014. In 2015 she was beaten by Dafne Schippers in a fascinating duel in that event. Felix now competes for the first time in the 400m in Brussels.
