Painter Christine Comyn creates Meeting poster

Artist Christine Comyn has once more been elected to create the Memorial Van Damme Meeting poster. In 2005 the Belgian painter already created the meeting poster with a female long jumper on it, this year a female hurdler takes the central stage.

There is no coincidence in electing Christine Comyn who actually is one of the few female Belgian painters that is very much wanted in art galleries outside Belgium. As a painter Comyn like no other expresses movement in her paintings. She uses to paint dancers, now she concentrates for the second time on athletes.
Comyn integrates an exceptional elegance in the silhouettes that she composes and turns them into something magical. Her virtuosity seems natural and spectators instantly feel themselves drown into the atmosphere of her paintings. The artwork of Comyn expresses feelgood, life and poetry.
In the recent past Christine Comyn has often been working outside Belgium. In the famous castle of Versailles she made impact with a series of paintings centered around Marie Antoinette. Upcoming is a “Performance on stage” in Mégève where Comyn will be painting on a stage amidst musicians and dancers. In 2016 there is a solo exhibition of her work in Singapore.
The organizers are grateful that Christine Comyn has dedicated time and inspiration in her workshop in Bruges to create the 2015 AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme Meeting poster.
