17 gold medal winners, 18 silver medal winners and 14 bronze medallists will be present at the 38th Memorial Van Damme meeting. Amongst the gold medallists figure Dafne Schippers (100m and 200m) and Sifan Hassan (1500m gold and 5000m silver). The newly crowned European sprint queen Schippers will compete in the 200m, while Hassan is entered in the 800m. European bronze medallist Susan Kuijken joins the 3000m field.
Gatlin goes for the sprint double
Justin Gatlin goes for the sprint double in Brussels : he will compete in the 100m and in the 200m. Gatlin aims to break the World Leading marks that he set on both distances earlier this year (9.80 in the 100m, 19.68 in the 200m).
The AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme will be held on Friday Sep. 5th in the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels. Tickets are on sale at the site.
