The 8 best young Belgian athletes in these events were invited by Adidas to assist at this clinic. During one hour they could participate in a training session where they received lots of tips and tricks from Van Alphen and Pearson, as well as from Wim Vandeven, the coach of Van Alphen.
The 31 year old Van Alphen is still recovering from injury and was only just ready to give some demonstrations to the young athletes. “I remember having participated in this kind of clinics when I was a young athlete myself. You always learn a lot from that.”
For Pearson it wa her second appearance at an Adidas clinic in Brussels. “I like sharing my experience with the athletes of the next generation. These youngsters seem to be even more talented than the ones I’ve seen last time.”
