No fewer than 1,273 fans of the Memorial have completed our survey, in which we asked who their favorite athletes actually were.
It is hardly surprising that the sprinters, who currently dominate the current world of athletics, stood out as the most popular athletes. The Jamaicans Usain Bolt , Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell clearly distanced the others in our survey too and reeled in more than 70% of the votes.
With a result of 50% and more were Yelena Isinbayeva, Blanka Vlasic, Anna Chicherova, Allyson Felix and Kenenisa Bekele.
Among the Belgian athletes results of more than 50% were reserved for the brothers Kevin and Jonathan Borlée, Tia Hellebaut, Elodie Ouedraogo, Olivia Borlée and Svetlana Bolshakova.
