For Yohan Blake, the man who beat his idol and mentor Usain Bolt at the Jamaican trials in both the 100 and 200m, will take part in the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme for the third time.
During his previous two participations in Brussels the 22-year-old Blake always managed a superb chrono: 9.91 in the 100m in 2010 (although he only finished third then!) and last year’s sensational 19.26 in the 200m, the second fastest chrono in history, after Bolt’s world record (19.19).
Usain Bolt himself will take part in his 5th Memorial to date. Like Blake, Bolt debuted with a third place (in 2007 in the 200m in 20.14), but reeled in three consecutive wins next, each time with super times:
-9.77 in the 100m in 2008
-19.57 in the 200m in 2009
-9.76 in the 100m in 2011
