After the success of the previous years, the “Belgacom Youth Memorial Van Damme” is taken on board again. A few hourse before their national and international idols go all out in the final of the Samsung Diamond League the stars of tomorrow will have the opportunity to perform in the the King Baudouin Stadium.
Like last year, the Belgacom Youth Memorial Van Damme Youth is organised for school children, boys and girls (born 1994-1995).
In the preliminary program from + / – 5.30pm onwards (a more detailed schedule will be announced later) a competition will be provided for the following disciplines:
Girls : 100m – 400m – 1000m* – 4x100m
Boys : 100m – 1000m* – High Jump – 4x100m
* Selection is based on performances at 800m and 1500m after conversion in IAAF scoring tables of Athletics
Number of athletes retained:
High 6 athletes
– 400m 8 athletes
4x100m 8 teams
1000m 16 athletes
On Monday, 5 September, the Royal Belgian Athletics Federation will produce a selection of athletes on the basis of their results until 4 September. The selected athletes will receive a personal invitation in the week of 5 September.
